Available for VS Code and JetBrains platforms.
In case you missed anything.
What is GitLive?
GitLive is a VS Code extension and JetBrains plugin that helps you and your fellow contributors merge faster by avoiding conflicts and working together in real-time.
Is there a free plan?
GitLive is free for open-source projects, and we also have free plan which is fully functional except merge conflict detection is limited to the 10 most recent branches, and you can share snapshots of your working tree changes instead of sharing in real-time.
How do I purchase a premium plan?
Once you have installed GitLive in your code editor you will be prompted to upgrade to premium if you hit the limits of the free plan. You can purchase a premium plan from here or if you require someone else in your company to make the payment you can create a sharable payment link.
Can I use GitLive if my teammates do not?
Yes as GitLive uses your local Git data to detect conflicts with remote branches. The major difference is we can only notify you of any conflicts once your teammates have pushed their changes.
Does GitLive upload my code to the cloud?
We store your working tree changes only when you enable sharing and delete them when you push your changes or disable sharing. All sensitive data is end-to-end encrypted, including source code patches, branch names and file paths. This ensures only you and the other members of your organization can read what is stored, and nobody in between, not even GitLive.
I don't want others to see my unpushed code
Sharing your working tree changes with the other members of your repository is voluntary, and off by default. You decide when others can see your working copy changes, and you can turn the sharing back off at any time.
Where can I report an issue or a feature request?
The best way is to open a new issue on GitHub here. You can also always reach out via chat or email us at support@git.live.
I am not using a VS Code or JetBrains based code editor
Support for more code editors is on our roadmap, to make sure we prioritize yours, please let us know which one you're using here.
We do not use GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps
GitLive uses your local Git data and works with any git repository but you will only be notified of any conflicts once you fetch. The real-time features require you to sign in with a supported service, you can let us know which service we should support next here.
